What it can and cannot diagnose
The NT604 Elite scans engine, ABS, SRS and transmission systems, which covers the lights most drivers see first. It also offers live data, a built-in code library, data playback and printing.
What it will not do is service work. There is no oil reset, battery registration, ABS bleeding, throttle relearn or ABS relearn here, so if you need those tasks, this is not the tool.
Diagnostic boundary: it reads and clears codes, it does not repair the fault.
GM models need SPS, Ford models need FMP or the diagnostic tool, and other brands have their own requirements.
