TunedDrive / Editorial standards

Define the condition. Bound the advice.

Scope

The standard for a vehicle guide is a source-backed distinction between what is observed, what remains uncertain and what the reader can safely do.

Safe action first

Warnings involving driving, heat, smoke, fuel, braking, steering, visibility or high voltage need a clear stop point. We separate driver-safe observations and documented controls from qualified work. A guide does not authorize hazardous work or a repair outside the reader’s competence and equipment.

Vehicle scope

Model year, market, powertrain, trim, software and fitted equipment can change an answer. We state the relevant limits and consult applicable owner documentation rather than treating a generic symptom as universal.

Evidence standard

We prefer manufacturer manuals, official support material, public agency guidance and other original sources. Material claims are checked against that evidence before they become advice. Uncertain claims are qualified or omitted.

A researched explanation is supported by its sources. A driving, scanning or hands-on finding appears only when the experience is documented.

Visual evidence

Diagrams explain a system or a decision; they are distinguished from photographs. Image credits identify generated illustrations and we retain source and permission records. We do not present an illustration as a photograph of a vehicle or product we tested.

Commercial disclosure

Paid placements are labeled. Affiliate disclosures explain when a link may earn TunedDrive a commission. Commercial arrangements do not supply factual support or override a safety boundary.

Revision standard

We check reported errors against original evidence, correct material mistakes and explain significant revisions on the article. The goal is a reliable next decision with the uncertainty still visible.
