What you need before the G980H goes in

The G980H installs as a front and rear pair, so the first question is whether your windshield and rear glass give you clean mounting spots for both cameras without blocking your view.

The front lens covers 170° and the rear covers 150°, which BOTSLAB says can span up to six lanes. That wide spread helps only if you can aim both cameras where they see the road rather than your cabin.

We'd consider this dash cam a strong pick for a daily driver because the front records in 4K with the IMX415 sensor while the rear records in 2K. The wider angle is useful for capturing cross traffic, but it is not a substitute for checking your own mirrors.

What it will not do

The ADAS alerts flag pedestrians, vehicles ahead, lane departures and following distance through a 1.5TOPS AI chip. They are real-time notifications, not a self-driving system, so you still steer and brake.

There is no SD card in the box. You will need to supply one before the G980H can record, and the listing names the model without storage included. The camera will not capture footage until you add a card.

A 24/7 parking mode needs the dedicated hardwire kit sold separately, which BOTSLAB lists as ASIN B0DT1633D2. No discount on the camera makes the parking feature work without that kit.

What it will not do

The G980H does not include a microSD card, so plan for one.

Parking mode requires the separate hardwire kit B0DT1633D2.

Difference
$12.89 (13 percent)

At $89.99, the G980H is $12.89 below its typical price of $102.88 over the last 90 days. That is a 13 percent difference, and it applies to the no-card configuration.

The G980H currently sits at $89.99, which is $12.89 below the typical price over the last 90 days of $102.88. Treat that gap as a comparison against the recent norm rather than a list or previous price.

You still need to budget for a microSD card and, if you want parking surveillance, the hardwire kit. Those extras change the total cost of running the G980H, not the camera price itself.

The wiring and mounting checks that matter

The front and rear cameras connect through your vehicle's power and the rear cable has to reach from the windshield to the back glass. Measure that route before you buy, because a short run will leave the rear camera unplugged.

BOTSLAB includes a static sticker so you can mount without adhesive residue. The front unit also needs a clear view for GPS and for the ADAS camera, since blocked vision can degrade those functions.

If you want parking monitoring after the ignition is off, the hardwire kit has to tie into a constant power source. The supercapacitor is rated from -20℃ to 70℃, but the hardwire kit is what keeps the camera running when the car is off.

Who should choose this dash cam

Choose the G980H if you want front 4K and rear 2K coverage, GPS speed and route logging, and a camera that can run in parking mode once you add the hardwire kit. The 5.8GHz WiFi and Bluetooth app connection give you two ways to pull clips.

Skip it if you are not ready to buy a microSD card or if you need a self-contained parking solution with no extra wiring. A $89.99 price against a $102.88 typical is worth taking only if the missing card and hardwire kit fit your plan.

Confirm your rear cable route, your card, and whether you will add the hardwire kit before checkout. Those three answers decide whether the G980H suits your car.
