What your vehicle needs to fit this
The N5S runs four cameras at once, covering the road ahead, the cabin, and the rear of your vehicle, so the first question is where each of those cameras actually lives. The front unit uses an adhesive mount with a ball joint bracket, while the cabin and rear cameras adjust for positioning.
Vantrue lists broad vehicle coverage for the N5S, naming cars, SUVs and trucks among the supported types, so a standard cabin is a reasonable starting point. That does not promise the cabling reaches every corner of a long vehicle, which is a separate question.
Our advice on the mount is simple. If your car has a vertical or steeply angled windshield, we'd consider the suction cup mount Vantrue sells separately, because the included adhesive mount is built for a standard angle. For a large vehicle, the standard rear cable is the usual bottleneck, and a 50-foot rear camera cable is available separately.

What it will not do
This is a recording device, not a repair tool. It captures footage of the road and the cabin, and the GPS data can generate mileage reports, which matters if you need documentation after an incident. It does not diagnose a mechanical fault or make a damaged vehicle safe to drive.
The parking mode claim deserves precision. Buffered parking mode activates when the ignition turns off, but Vantrue states it requires hardwiring, and the hardwire kit is sold separately. Without that kit, the camera loses its parked-vehicle coverage when you walk away.
Parking coverage. 24/7 parking mode needs the hardwire kit, sold separately.

At $309.99, the N5S sits in premium dash cam territory, and the number to compare against is $384.11, the typical price over the last 90 days. That puts the current offer $74.12 below the typical figure, or about 19 percent off.
This is a four-camera system, so the price covers multiple cameras, a rear unit with a 2.5K IMX675 sensor, and a rear cabin camera built around an IMX662 sensor. If you only need front footage, that hardware is more than the job requires.
Power, cable and card checks
Plan the power path before you buy. Vantrue directs you to use the included car charger cable or the hardwire kit, so the parking-mode decision and the power decision are the same decision.
Storage is separate too. The camera accepts microSD cards up to 1TB, which Vantrue says supports up to 40 hours of continuous four-channel recording, and the card is not included. A reputable card is worth choosing carefully here, since four channels write more data at once.
Check the rear cable length against your vehicle before ordering, and confirm the mount suits your windshield angle. The super capacitor build is rated from -4 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, so temperature is one spec you do not need to reconsider.
Who should pick this one
Choose the N5S if you want one install to cover four angles, including the cabin, and you value the STARVIS 2 sensors and infrared cabin cameras for low-light and interior footage. Owners of larger vehicles and Jeep Wranglers are the clearest fit given Vantrue's stated coverage.
Skip it if a single front camera solves your problem, or if you are not prepared to buy a hardwire kit, a memory card, and possibly a longer rear cable. The camera also carries a 4.1 score across 2,181 reviews, so it is well reviewed but not flawless. Confirm the card, the power source, and the cable run before you order.
