Start with whether your vehicle is covered
The D6S supports OBD2, EOBD, JOBD, CAN, CAN-FD and FCA protocols across more than 90 brands and thousands of models, spanning US, European, Asian and Australian 12V cars, light trucks, SUVs and minivans.
FCA AutoAuth is built in for newer FCA vehicles, but you need your own account and an active subscription, which the device does not include. For the 30 reset services, coverage changes per vehicle, so we recommend submitting your VIN to XTOOL before ordering.

What it will not do
This is a diagnostic and reset tool, not a parts replacement. It can read and clear codes across all available modules, graph live data and run service functions, but it will not repair a failed component or guarantee a fault is resolved.
It also does not include FCA AutoAuth access, language authorization, or the reset services themselves for every model. Treat it as a way to diagnose and reset, then expect component repair when a part has actually failed.
Diagnoses and clears codes but does not replace failed parts
Language use may need XTOOL authorization
Not all reset functions are available on every vehicle

At $238.99, the D6S sits $43.16 below the typical price of $282.15 over the last 90 days. That is about 15% off and puts full-system diagnostics and 30 maintenance functions within reach of a home garage.
For a scanner that can run transmission adaptation and other relearn jobs, that price is a reasonable entry into dealership-level functions.
Charging, storage and screen checks
The D6S uses an HD touchscreen at 1440x720 and stores data in 32GB of internal memory that you can expand with a microSD card.
Before you buy, confirm your vehicle's OBD2 port and 12V electrical system, and plan how you will manage Wi-Fi for the one-click updates, since those updates add vehicle coverage and improve the tool over time.
Who should choose this scanner
Choose the XTOOL D6S if you own multiple vehicles, do your own maintenance and want full-system scans plus reset services from one tool. It suits DIYers, families with a small fleet and mechanics who need live data, DTC explanations and a diagnostic report without paying dealer prices.
Skip it if you need guaranteed coverage for a specific reset job before you buy, since functions vary by model. The last check is whether your vehicle appears in XTOOL's compatibility system and whether you have FCA AutoAuth arranged if you drive a newer FCA product.
