Will this dash cam fit your car and your recording needs
Before you buy, decide what you need to record. The Vantrue N2X captures the road ahead and the cabin in one unit, with a 158° front lens and a 165° interior lens. It records 1944p+1080p at 30fps, and the front can switch to 1440p at 60fps for smoother action.
We'd consider this dual view a good fit for rideshare, taxi, delivery and family drivers who want a record of both the road and the people inside. There's no rear camera to wire, which simplifies installation. If you mainly need front-only coverage, a single-channel cam may be simpler and cheaper.
Check your mounting options. The magnetic mount uses a ball joint for aiming, but the camera needs a spot on the windshield or dashboard where it won't block your view. Also confirm you have a standard cigarette lighter outlet for power.

What it will not do
The N2X records video and GPS data, but it doesn't provide driver assistance or collision avoidance. Parking mode requires a separate hardwire kit, so the included power cable won't enable 24/7 monitoring on its own. Voice control and the emergency button are convenient, but the button is also sold separately.
The built-in supercapacitor handles temperatures from -4°F to 158°F, but that's about reliability, not a promise to prevent damage to your car. The camera is not compatible with PD fast chargers or cables, so use the included charger or a Vantrue cable.
The interior camera can be turned off to protect privacy, but the front camera will still record. If you need full discretion, you'll need to manage when the system is powered.

At $167.99, the N2X sits $21.50 below its typical price over the last 90 days of $189.49. That works out to 11% off. If you've had this model on your list, that's a reasonable gap to act on. Just keep in mind the comparison point is the typical price over the last 90 days.
What to check before you mount it
The N2X is designed for tool-free installation and comes with a magnetic mount. It fits all series of vehicles according to the manufacturer. You'll need to route the power cable to a cigarette lighter outlet. If your car doesn't have one, you can request a power cable from Vantrue support.
The camera records to a microSD card, and Vantrue recommends their own card for reliable performance. Storage isn't included, so plan to buy a card if you don't have one. For parking mode, you'll need the hardwire kit, which is sold separately.
The interior lens rotates 45° to help you aim it, but you'll want to adjust it so it captures the cabin without blocking the front view. Make sure the mount location doesn't interfere with airbags or your line of sight.
Should you buy the Vantrue N2X
Consider the N2X if you want a dual-channel dash cam for rideshare or family use and prefer a simple setup without rear wiring. The STARVIS 2 sensors and IR night vision are strong points for low-light cabin recording, and the current price is a modest discount.
Skip it if you need parking mode out of the box, since the hardwire kit is extra. Also skip if you prefer a rear camera for complete coverage, or if your car lacks a cigarette lighter and you don't want to request a cable. Finally, if you already own a dash cam that meets your needs, this isn't a necessary upgrade.
