What your vehicle needs for three cameras

Vantrue's N4 Pro S runs three channels at once: 4K up front, 2.5K inside and 1080P at the rear. The coverage angles differ too, at 155 degrees front, 160 inside and 165 rear.

The rear camera connects over a 20ft cable, and Vantrue lists cars, SUVs, minivans, trucks and buses as fits. We'd consider the cable run and mounting points before ordering, since a long vehicle or a tricky tailgate path may need planning.

A VANTRUE industrial-grade U3 microSD card is the recommended media, sold separately in 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB sizes. The camera accepts cards up to 1TB.

What it will not do

The N4 Pro S records and reports. It does not repair a vehicle fault or make an unsafe drive safe.

Parking mode needs a hardwire kit wired to your fuse box, and that kit is sold separately. Buffered motion and impact detection can save the 10 seconds before an event, but only when the permanent connection is in place.

Night plate recognition is quoted for vehicles moving at up to 31mph, so treat that as the supported limit rather than a guarantee at any speed.

What it will not do

The 4K front, 2.5K rear and 1080P inside feeds are recording channels, not a driver-assist system.

Front and rear mode at 4K plus 2.5K cuts heat by 30% against triple recording, per Vantrue.

Mounting, power and storage checks

The buffered parking feature depends on a hardwire kit connecting to the fuse box, so decide whether you want that permanent feed before you buy. If you skip the kit, you lose the round-the-clock parking recording.

Plan the 20ft rear cable route from the windshield to the back of the vehicle, and confirm you have a clean mounting spot for all three units. The 360-degree rear camera rotates, which helps angle it once it's placed.

A super capacitor handles heat rather than a battery, and Vantrue expects the card to be swapped when it wears out. Buy a U3 microSD card in a capacity that matches how much triple-channel footage you want to keep.

Who should choose this dash cam

Choose the N4 Pro S if you want front, cabin and rear coverage from one unit, with the option to drop to front and rear recording for lower heat and power use. It suits drivers who will also fit the hardwire kit for parking surveillance.

Skip it if a single front camera is enough, or if you won't wire into the fuse box and don't need parking mode. The 5GHz WiFi, GPS route and speed logging, and voice commands round out the feature set for buyers who want the full three-camera install.

Before ordering, confirm your fuse box access, your rear cable path and your microSD card choice.
