Garmin announced a racing setup that lets drivers see digital flag signals and changing track conditions from inside the vehicle. It connects a Garmin Catalyst 2 driving performance optimizer to a MYLAPS X2 RaceLink Club on-board digital flagging device through an In-car Flagging Y-cable, and the flags appear on the Catalyst 2's 3-inch LCD screen (opens in a new tab).
Garmin says the combination is meant to help drivers react quicker to conditions such as weather, safety checks and recovery operations. Susan Lyman, Garmin Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing, called it "the first integrated tech solution that leverages GPS and motorsports expertise from Garmin and racing insights from MYLAPS".
Garmin says this is the first MYLAPS integration into its motorsports product category, and that it acquired the timing and tracking company in 2025. The X2 RaceLink Club is not a timing transponder and works only with the MYLAPS X2 Race Control system, so Garmin advises checking with the series organizer or track for compliance before buying.
How to get it
The X2 RaceLink Club with its one-year service plan, the Catalyst 2, the In-car Flagging Y-cable and a cage mount accessory are sold together as a combined purchase with a suggested retail price of $1,699.99. Drivers can also buy the items separately.
Garmin says items bought in the same order may ship on separate dates, with timing for each component estimated during checkout.
