Mercedes-Benz is recalling certain vehicles because their front brake hoses may rupture, allowing brake fluid to escape and increasing both stopping distance and crash risk (opens in a new tab). Dealers will fit replacement front brake hoses at no charge under the recall, which has 30,064 potentially affected vehicles.

The affected vehicles include certain S 500 4MATIC, S 580 4MATIC, Maybach S 580 4MATIC and Maybach S 680 4MATIC models from the 2022 through 2025 model years. Also covered are certain S 580 E 4MATIC vehicles from model years 2023 through 2025 and AMG S 63 E Performance vehicles from model years 2024 through 2025.

NHTSA received the recall report on October 2, 2026, and assigned campaign number 26V638000. The campaign expands the earlier NHTSA recall numbered 25V116.

What owners should do

Owners can check their Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) on NHTSA.gov, where the affected VINs became searchable on October 9, 2026. Mercedes-Benz expects notification letters for owners to enter the mail on November 27, 2026. Owners with questions can reach MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
