LG says it is bringing six cabin systems to the Genesis GV90, combining an adjustable cockpit screen, rear-passenger entertainment and controls for vehicle functions (opens in a new tab). Its variable popup display system exposes 23.6 inches of screen during driving, then moves upward another 90mm when stationary to provide a 24.6-inch entertainment display.
LG's integrated infotainment system works within Hyundai Motor Group's Pleos Connect, linking the instrument cluster with navigation, audio, video and the head-up display. It also supports Pleos Connect OS alongside the Gleo AI voice assistant service. For rear passengers, the second-generation ccRC pairs a touch-sensitive, 13.2-inch OLED screen with LG Automotive Content Platform (ACP).
The eight-inch console touch screen (CTS) provides haptic feedback and controls functions such as seats, HVAC and doors. LG says its central communication unit (CCU) 2.0 connects the GV90's key electronic control units with one another and external networks, supporting remote control and OTA updates. LG reports that TÜV Rheinland has certified CCU 2.0 as compliant with ASIL-D requirements under ISO 26262, the international automotive functional safety standard.
What streaming needs
An automotive data plan is necessary for streaming access, and certain apps may also need their own subscription. LG ACP offers services including YouTube and Netflix, plus LG Channels, which provides free streaming TV supported by advertising.
LG plans to add HappyKids, Zoom and Rakuten TV to LG ACP, with availability dependent on launch schedules in each region. The CTS also supports cybersecurity capabilities and OTA updates.
