Volkswagen and AirConsole are bringing Tetris® to New York Comic Con in a 2027 Volkswagen Atlas, giving visitors a chance to try multiplayer gaming inside the vehicle (opens in a new tab). AirConsole says Tetris® supports up to 4 players when the vehicle is parked, using compatible smartphones as controllers.

Visitors can try the setup at booth 1935, hosted by Pop Insider. AirConsole has expanded to certain Volkswagen vehicles from model year 2027 in the U.S., with Atlas and Tiguan among the eligible models.
AirConsole says Sprint challenges players to finish 40 lines in the shortest time, either alone or against opponents. Online Battle lets players face other people playing Tetris® in cars worldwide or set up a private room for friends. The game's lighting integration changes cabin lighting to match a cleared line's color, with coordinated effects supported on select models and trims.
What owners need to play
AirConsole comes with Volkswagen's In-Vehicle Premium plan, which requires an active myVW+ subscription. Buyers of select new 2027 models receive three months of In-Vehicle Premium with their purchase. Gameplay also requires compatible infotainment hardware, vehicle 4G LTE and GPS connectivity, and acceptance of AirConsole terms.
Owners must enroll their vehicle through the myVW app and activate In-Vehicle Premium before opening AirConsole from the infotainment app menu. They then scan the displayed QR code with a smartphone and follow the prompts to connect their controller and select a game. The vehicle must be parked. Depending on the model, the parking brake may also need to be engaged.
