Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 23,677 potentially affected vehicles because of a DC-DC converter fault, under NHTSA recall 26V599000 and manufacturer recall E008 (opens in a new tab). The recall expands an earlier NHTSA campaign, 26V248. NHTSA received the report on September 17, 2026.
The converter can malfunction when electrical overload occurs during high power demand, and a software error can also stop it when the vehicle starts. Either failure ends 12-volt system charging, which can lead to a complete loss of drive power and to exterior lighting going out. Losing drive power raises the risk of a crash.
The component involved is the electrical system. The affected list spans several Land Rover and Jaguar nameplates: the 2019-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport; the 2020-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover, Discovery Sport and Defender; and the 2021-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar and Discovery, Jaguar E-Pace and Jaguar F-Pace.
What owners should do
Dealers will update the vehicle software at no cost to owners. Jaguar Land Rover expects to mail interim owner letters on November 13, 2026, and says further letters will go out once the final remedy is available.
