Chrysler is recalling certain Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs over roof rack crossbars that could come off the vehicle. NHTSA lists 97,349 vehicles as potentially affected by campaign 26V584000. The problem concerns pivot bolts that may have been left improperly tightened (opens in a new tab).
The affected vehicles are certain Jeep Wagoneer models from 2022 through 2025 and certain Jeep Grand Wagoneer models from 2022 through 2026. The notice also covers certain Jeep Wagoneer L models from 2023 through 2025 and certain Jeep Grand Wagoneer L models from 2023 through 2026.
A crossbar that comes loose can fall into the road and pose a hazard to traffic, making a crash more likely. The recall is about the crossbar fastening hardware.
What owners should do
Chrysler says dealers will fit new roof rack crossbar pivot bolts without charging owners. It expects to mail an initial warning about the safety risk on October 8, 2026. Owners are to receive another notice when the final repair is available.
