Kuat is recalling certain Pivot V3 swing-away hitch adapter units and offering owners replacement hitch adapters at no cost because the cross beam could separate if a weld cracks (opens in a new tab). The defect involves a weld on the hitch tube that is susceptible to cracking. If the cross beam separates, it could become an obstruction in traffic and increase the risk of a crash.
